Maps, Number Plate Scanning, and Dashboard Customisation
Kepthouse v1.3.11 is a big update. Your properties and contacts now appear on an interactive map, you can scan number plates and VINs with your camera, and Premium users can rearrange their dashboard. Here is everything that is new.
See your home on a map
Every property and contact with an address now gets a pin on an OpenStreetMap. Open a property, and a small map preview appears below the address field. Tap it to explore a full-screen interactive map where you can pan, zoom, and see every location you have saved.

Pins are colour-coded: blue for properties, orange for contacts, and red for the item you are viewing. Use the menu to toggle labels (names above each pin) and tasks (upcoming due dates and linked tasks).
Find your address with GPS
Adding a new property? Tap the location icon next to the address field. Kepthouse uses your GPS to detect your street and postcode, then asks you to confirm your house number or name. One tap and the full address is filled in — street, suburb, town, and postcode.
GPS detects your street and postcode — just add your house number
Location permission is only requested when you tap the button. Kepthouse never accesses your location in the background.
Dashboard map
The dashboard now includes a Map section showing all your geocoded properties and contacts at a glance. The map auto-zooms to fit every pin. Tap it to explore in full screen. Like all dashboard sections, it is collapsible — and Premium users can move or hide it.
Scan your number plate
Adding a vehicle just got faster. Tap the camera icon next to the Registration field, point your phone at the plate, and Kepthouse reads the number using on-device OCR. The registration is filled in, a DVLA lookup triggers automatically, and the photo is attached to your vehicle.
Camera icons on Registration and VIN fields — scan instead of typing
The same camera icon appears on the VIN field. Point it at the windscreen plate, door sticker, or V5C document and the 17-character VIN is extracted instantly. All scanning happens on your device — no images are sent to the internet.
Supported plate formats: current (AB12 CDE), prefix, suffix, dateless, and Northern Ireland.
MOT history and recall warnings
The DVLA lookup now returns your full MOT test history — every test date, pass or fail result, mileage, advisories, and defects colour-coded by severity. If your vehicle has an outstanding safety recall, a warning banner appears on the vehicle screen. Premium users get daily automatic checks that detect new MOT results and recall notices.
Customise your dashboard
Premium users can now rearrange and hide dashboard sections. Tap the three-dot menu at the top of the dashboard or long-press any section header to open the customisation sheet.
Move sections up or down, and hide what you do not need
Use the arrows to reorder sections and the eye icon to show or hide them. Your layout is saved automatically and included in backups. Free users see the default layout — upgrade to Premium to unlock customisation.
Everything else
- Expiring Warranties — the dashboard section formerly called "Expiring Soon" now has a clearer name
- Better contrast — status chips and badges across the dashboard and vault are easier to read in dark mode
- Smarter navigation — tapping an asset reminder on the dashboard now takes you to the item in the Vault and highlights it, just like tasks and warranties
- Companies House — expanded details with status badges, auto-verify on save, and daily background checks for Premium
